Minnesota Public Utilities Commission approved MMPA’s Integrated Resource Plan on May 23

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) approved the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency’s Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) at its May 23 meeting.  MMPA’s IRP covered the planning period 2019 to 2033 and demonstrated that MMPA has sufficient capacity to meet its needs throughout most of the projection period, until 2030.  MMPA’s next IRP is due to the PUC in August 2025.  A copy of MMPA’s IRP can be found on the Agency’s website, www.mmpa.org.

The Minnesota Municipal Power Agency is a joint action agency providing wholesale electric power to its twelve municipal members who in turn supply power to approximately 160,000 Minnesotans.  MMPA has a diverse portfolio of renewable and conventional power supply resources.  MMPA’s mission is to provide reliable, competitively-priced power to its members and to create value for the Agency and its members.
